Both Aldi & Primark have released Jo Malone ‘dupes’ from candles & diffusers to hand creams.

If you’re looking for the perfect gift on a budget, or just want to treat yourself to something smelly (literally who doesn’t?), then you need to head to Aldi NOW.

The £3.99 candle range that is a finance-friendly alternative to more luxurious home fragrances is officially back in stock, and here to stay! And to top it all off, Aldi have even added three diffusers to the range (also retailing at £3.99).

Candle No.1 is Lime, Basil & Mandarin

With this candle you can smell both the Lime and the Mandarin before it is lit and then as the candle burns the basil comes to life and I was quite surprised as to how lovely scented this candle was.

Candle No.2 is Blackberry Bay

The Blackberry scent is not as strong and fruity as I had expected it to be, you have to get up quite close and personal to catch the actual scent.  For me, I think it is the weakest of three candles.

Candles No.3 is Pomegranate Noir

This one for me has the strongest scent and the one which has the ability to ensure the fragrance spreads throughout the house and to me, it actually does smell as the name suggests.

Both the candles and the reed diffusers are available in Lime, Basil & Mandarin, Blackberry Bay and Pomegranate Noir. When the candles first launched back in March, they caused such a storm that many customers queued outside the store. Needless to say, they sold out within days.

Like all good limited editions, you’ve got to move quick if you want one. Or six. And at £3.99, it’s not really going to matter if it’s all just a little bit of hype!

Primark Private Collection

At almost 15 times cheaper, the Primark version is apparently a dead ringer for the premium scent.

Primark has launched a collection of perfumes that look and smell just like Jo Malone’s signature scents.

Called The Private Collection, there are six different fragrances you can choose from, including Rose Oud, Pomegranate and Black Tea, Jasmine and Honey, Vanilla Absolute, Amber Noir and Mandarin and Basil.

In true Primark style, their dupe of Malone’s six unisex fragrances costs almost 15 times less than the upmarket brand, at just £3 for a 20ml bottle. A Jo Malone original costs £44 for 30ml.

It is their Pomegranate & Black Tea and Mandarin Basil scents that are proving most popular because people think they’re dead ringers for Jo Malone’s classic Pomegranate Noir and Lime Basil & Mandarin fragrances.

Rose Oud Perfume

Perfume notes: Red Rose Petals, Raspberries, Dark Woods and Patchouli

I am particularly impressed with the perfume, as it smells so, so expensive, and seems to hang around all day without losing too much of its strength. For £8 (for the bigger bottle – not pictured), that’s nothing short of a miracle.

Mandarin & Basil Hand Cream

Perfume notes: Mandarin, Bergamot, Peppery Basil, Pine Needles

This the most refreshing citrus scent and a complete dupe of the Jo Malone Lime Basil and Mandarin scent, it smells just the same.

Pomegranate & Black Tea Hand Wash

Perfume notes: Fresh and fruity blend of Pomegranate Molasses, Winter Spices, Black Tea and Rose

I am definitely not one for fruitier scents but I have found myself loving this Pomegranate and Black Tea one. It smells really refreshing.

Amber Noir Perfume

Perfume notes: Oriental fragrance with White Jasmine, Patchouli, Suede and Vanilla Bean

This spicy Amber fragrance is inspired by Morocco and it smells amazing. I have been in love with the Jo Malone Cologne Intense fragrances since they first came out and this Amber Noir smells closest to their Oud and Bergamot scent.

I am really impressed by Primark’s Private Collection and these perfumes are only £8 each, a complete bargain buy. If you are like me and want a Jo Malone perfume dupe, head down to Primark as these are definitely going to sell out!
